British International Investment (BII) is delighted to host a research workshop in collaboration with the Private Sector Development Research Network (PSDRN), the CEPR Structural Change and Economic Growth programme (STEG), and the International Growth Centre (IGC). PSDRN is designed to bring together researchers and practitioners with a shared interest in understanding how firms and markets contribute to sustainable and inclusive growth. Both funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), STEG is a research initiative that aims to provide a better understanding of structural change, productivity, and growth in low- and middle-income countries, while IGC is a global research centre that works with policymakers in developing countries to promote inclusive and sustainable growth through pathbreaking research.
The workshop programme will start with a panel discussion of how practitioners put research into practice followed by five presentations and discussions of cutting-edge research into the development impact of private investment. The workshop will be preceded by a buffet lunch and followed by a drinks reception at BII.
Following on from this event, STEG and the IGC are hosting the Conference on Structural Transformation, Growth, and Economic Development on Thursday 2 February and Friday 3 February at the London School of Economics.

The workshop will take place in person by invitation at BII, with presentations streamed to a broader external audience. Register here to attend the workshop virtually.
