Rachel Ngai is a Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics and Public Policy at the Imperial College London, currently on leave from London School of Economics. She is a Research Fellow at CEPR and IZA. Her research interests span the theory of economic growth, labour markets and housing markets, with focus on the structural transformation, time allocation across gender and skills, role of search frictions in the housing market and Chinese economy. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
