Axel Eizmendi Larrinaga

Axel is a fourth-year Ph.D. student in Economics and Public Policy at Tufts University.  His research is in development economics, with a focus on social protection, education and labor, and energy. He has conducted research projects in Togo, Brazil, Kenya and The Philippines.

He was previously a research assistant in development economics at the the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford where he worked at the Mind and Behaviour Research Group (MBRG), Centre for the Study of African Economies (CSAE). Prior to this, he was a consultant at the World Bank’s Poverty and Equity Global Practice. Axel holds an MSc. in Development Economics from the University of Oxford and a B.A. in Economics from the George Washington University.
