Breno Sampaio is an Associate Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics at the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco. He is also Director of the Group for the Economic Evaluation of Public Policies, a Research Fellow at IZA Institute of Labor Economics, and a Research Fellow at the CLEAN Unit on the Economic Analysis of Crime in the Baffi-Carefin Centre at Bocconi University. Breno's research interests include the economics of crime, labour economics, health economics, and development economics. He earned his PhD in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2011.
