Christopher Adam is the Oxford Team Leader. Adam is a Professor of Development Economics and Head of the Oxfod Department of International Development at the University of Oxford. His research focuses on the macroeconomics of low-income countries, in particular those of Africa, with a focus on monetary economics and public finance; and growth and structural change in low-income countries. His work uses methods of quantitative macroeconomics including stochastic and deterministic general equilibrium techniques.  Professor Adam is also the Lead Academic for the IGC programme in Tanzania and a Visiting Scholar at the IMF. He is currently Co-Editor of the Oxford Review of Economic Policy, an Associate Editor of the Journal of Development Economics and serves as a member of the editorial board of Oxford Economic Papers, Oxford Development Studies and the Tanzanian Economic Review. Previously, he served as external Macroeconomic Adviser to the Policy Division at DFID, as Special Advisor to the House of Lords Economic Affairs Committee Inquiry into Aid Effectiveness and represented DFID as Vice Chair of the African Economic Research Consortium.
