Gaaitzen de Vries is a member of the Groningen Team and an Associate Professor of Global Economics and Management in the Department of Global Economics and Management at the University of Groningen. His expertise is in development economics, trade, and structural change. He is currently a Special Term Visiting Professor of Global Value Chains at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing. His work has appeared amongst others in the Journal of Economic Perspectives, Economic Policy and the Journal of Development Economics.
